Investing Risk vs Reward

I am in my late fifties. My window of opportunity is closing. I cannot afford to speculate.
I spent the past year working on a screening strategy to improve the risk vs reward of my portfolio. There is an irreducible relationship between risk and reward. My strategy with the research wizard required weekly screening which meant short holding times and therfore higher cost. I think the strategy I developed will work however it may take more time than I have.
